Adam’s Peak
Sri Pada — Adam’s Peak — is a 2,243-metre conical mountain sacred to Buddhists, Hindus, Muslims and Christians alike, crowned by a rock formation revered as a sacred footprint.
Pilgrims and travellers climb through the night by lamplight to reach the summit before dawn, rewarded by a spectacular sunrise and the mountain’s perfect triangular shadow cast across the clouds.
